Argentina 5-4 Colombia (Penalty)

Argentina reached the semi-finals of the Copa America, defeating Colombia 5-4 in a penalty shoot-out after a fiercely contested match finished 0-0 at full-time.

Former Juventus striker Carlos Tevez was the hero for Argentina, stepping up to ram home the decisive sudden death spot kick after Colombia’s Jeison Murillo had blazed over the bar to give the favourites the initiative. Tevez’s penalty was the final twist to a dramatic shoot-out which saw Lucas Biglia and Marcos Rojo both miss kicks for Argentina that would have sealed victory.  (26 JUN 2015)

Paraguay came from two goals down to claim a a share of the spoils from a late 2-2 draw in their Copa America Group B opener against Argentina in La Serena on Saturday. Argentina went 2-0 up thanks to first-half goals from Sergio Aguero and Lionel Messi but their opponents struck back through Nelson Haedo Valdez and Luca Barrios for a point at Estadio La Portada.
