ARGENTINA 3-0 MEXICO

The Argentinean national squad will clash with Brazil in the final of Copa América Venezuela-2007, after defeating Mexico 3-nil, in the semifinals of the continental tournament, held at the Cachamay Stadium, in Puerto Ordaz.

In the last minute of the first half, the Argentineans finally managed to break the deadlock. Left-back Heinze ghosted into the Mexican box and opened the scoring from a set-play taken by Riquelme.

Messi picked up a pass by Tevez and broke into the area before chipping the ball over Sánchez, with a soft strike to double the lead for his country, on 61 minutes.

The Mexicans felt the blow and crumbled. Five minutes later, on 66 minutes, Tevez was tripped in the box for a penalty. Riquelme did the honors from the spot with a classy shot, to send keeper Sanchez the opposite way and seal the semifinal match.

ARGENTINA 4-0 PERU

The Argentinean national squad qualified to the semifinals of the Copa América, after demolishing Peru 4-nil, in the match held this Sunday, at the Metropolitano de Barquisimeto Stadium, in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

The Argentinean goals were scored by Juan Román Riquelme (two), Lionel Messi and Mascherano.

Argentina will take on México, next Wednesday, in the semis.

ARGENTINA 1-0 PARAGUAY

Argentina wrapped up Group C in the Copa America 2007 courtesy of a 1-0 win over Paraguay in Copa America on Thursday.

Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano scored the crucial goal 12 minutes from the end as Alfio Basile’s men recorded their third consecutive victory in South America’s showpiece tournament.

ARGENTINA 4-2 COLOMBIA

The Argentinean national squad qualified to the quarterfinals of Copa América-2007, after defeating Colombia 4-2, in the fixture held this Monday, at the José ‘Pachencho’ Romero Stadium, in Maracaibo, in Group C of the continental tournament.

The Argentineans won with goals scored by Hernán Crespo (penalty), Riquelme (two) and Diego Milito, and the Colombians reduced the deficit through Perea and Castrillón.
