Argentina 4-1 Bolivia

Argentina finished off their group stage campaign in style with a comfortble 4-1 win against Bolivia in Group of the CONMEBOL Copa América 2021. With this the Albiceleste confirm a quarterfinal date against Ecuador.

Alejandro Gómez, Lionel Messi (twice), Lautaro Martínez scored the goals for the Group winners, while Erwin Saavedra scored a concelation for the Bolivians who depart the competition. (28 Jun 2021)

Argentina 1-0 Paraguay

Argentina earnt a hard fought 1-0 win against Paraguay at the Estadio Mané Garrincha de Brasilia to book their place in the quarterfinal of the CONMEBOL Copa America.

Argentina made the better start and despite rotation in the side looked the stronger side from the outset.

In the opening period ‘Papu’ Gómez sent a left foot shot just over the bar from outside the area before Sergio Agüero failed to take advantage of a Paraguayan defensive mix up.

Argentina were soon able to convert a period of superiority to a goal advantage. Lionel Messi lead the attack, finding Ángel Di María who masterfully set up Sevilla’s ‘Papu’ Gómez for a classy, clinical finish. It was 1-0 and it was well deserved. (21 Jun 2021)

Argentina 1-0 Uruguay

It was Argentina’s 1,000th official game and they crowned it with a win against their oldest rivals.

Lionel Scaloni’s side picked up their first win of the CONMEBOL Copa América 2021 by beating old rivals Uruguay at the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasilia.

The only goal of the game was scored by Guido Rodríguez while legendary captain Lionel Messi was in inspired form. Messi was at the heart of all of Argentina’s best work and was a constant headache for a robust Uruguayan defense.

The big win means Argentina sit top of Group A alongside Chile with 4 points. Paraguay and Uruguay both have 3 points but have a game in hand while Peru are bottom with no points from 2 games. (18 Jun 2021)

Argentina and Chile shared the points from their opening Group A game of the CONMEBOL Copa America at Estadio Nilton Santos in Rio de Janeiro.

Colombia 2-2 Argentina

There was high drama in Barranquilla, meanwhile, as Colombia mounted a stunning comeback to share the spoils with Argentina. Down 2-0 at half-time, the home side pulled a goal back after the break and Miguel Borja headed an equaliser with 94 minutes on the clock. (08 Jun 2021)

Chile came away with a hard-won point from a gritty contest in Buenos Aires. Argentina took the lead though a Lionel Messi spot-kick midway through the first half, but ever-reliable veteran Alexis Sanchez drew La Roja level before the break.
